I was making this card to enter in The Doilies & Lace Challenge. I have had this doily banner idea in my head for a while and though this would be the perfect opportunity to execute it but then just when I thought I was finished, it was still missing a little something you know!? and that is when the spatter technique came to mind; something that I have also wanted to try. This means that I will also enter this in The Spatter Technique Challenge. I turned to my handy dandy water color pencils to achieve this. First I saturated a bushy brush with water, brushed it on the tip of the pink water color pencil and then flickered the brush on my project here a couple of times (having practiced first on scrap paper). I have loved how the spatter technique gives an edge to a project. I enjoyed finally using this technique. My daughter thought that it was crazy that I did this to the card but my son thought it was cool. I finished off by adding a little bling. I am also entering this in the Play Date Cafe Challenge # 134 which is where the inspiration to use this colors came from.
The doilies were created with the EK abstract flower punch just in case you are wondering Thanks for stopping by today.
Stamps used are from:
