Happy Valentine's Day

Here goes another card inspired by the Homemade Stamp Challenge over at Moxi Fab World.
For this card my homemade stamp was something most of us may at times take for granted in our kitchens until we run out...what would that be? Paper Towels of course. I don't know what made me think of using a paper towel to create a background but once it popped in my head I had to give a try. Once again dye ink worked nicely for this application. In the first try, I pressed the paper towel with fingers a little too much into the ink pad...the second time the result is what you see above. I cut the paper towel the size that I wanted the background to be before I inked it up. I then went around the edge of the stamped background with a pen, added a bit of a shadow with chalk.
I have slowly but surely collected a small amount of embellishments and one of my crafty resolutions for this year is to use those embellishments...that is where the flowers come from.
The Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink (Love Birds) stamp set.

  1. Wow! You are so creative- I love how the paper towel stamping gives texture to the card.
