World Card Making Day

I had to pop in and share this card that I just made, I could not let World Card Making Day pass by without making a card.

I was inspired by ColourQ Challenge #310 and CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #143. My hubby just got me a set of measuring cups with the very colors shown in the colourQ inspiration so of course jumped at the chance of playing with those colors on paper. I loved this sketch the other day when I saw card featuring this sketch, I didn't follow the link just pinned it, so when I saw that this was the current sketch at CAS(E) well you know I had to give it a go.

Yesterday, I came across something on instagram from Studio Calico mentioning World Card Making Day and of course it totally picked my interest. I went to search World Card Making Day and came to this little bit of information on here.

"World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on."

I thought that was really cool and feel grateful that I was part of that in a very small way. I had to go and pull out my copy of the magazine were I was feature as one of the World Card Making Day Winners of 2011. Fun memories.

All the stamps used in this card are from Wplus9 Design Studios.

Happy World Card making Day. I hope that you too can find a little time to play with ink and paper and make a card.

Thanks for stopping by.
